Dear God,

People are looking for Rest ... all kinds of Rest ....
Rest for minds, Rest for bodies, and Rest for their spirits.
May I learn that the secret of rest is to come unto You.

Pride, selfishness, and the desires of my heart blocked my way.
It is not always easy to come to You because, often, I stand in my own way.   May i diminish, so you can increase in me!

As You give me rest and peace and depth of soul may I do my best to meet the needs of those who come to me.

Lord, as I come to You, may I learn more and more, to allow people to come to You through me, by your Spirit's leading.

May I accomplish this through Your strength and power, giving You the glory, because You alone are worthy.

Thank You for Your love-filled promise, "I WILL give you rest!"

Search my heart, cleans me, and fill me with your Spirit.
Lead me, I ask, in Jesus' matchless name, Amen.

Missionary Update dec. 2007

Hello Friends,

It’s been a few weeks since we’ve been back from Turkey, and things are going quite well. I also went to Ukraine to visit Katya’s parents and show them their grandkiddies. They were happy about that, and I was happy about the good ol’ Ukrainian food. Katya flew right back to hit the books, and catch up on lost time while in Turkey. Upon returning, it took several days to get over the jet lag (there is a 4 hour time difference from Kyrgyzstan to Turkey), but once settled back into the routine, we’re doing quite well.

The church is going along pretty good. We have a wedding coming up on December 22. This will be my second wedding ceremony, so I’m looking forward to it quite a bit. Probably not as much as the bride and groom though. We’re also in the swing of Christmas preparations at the church. We’re going to rent a big hall in the largest mall in the city, so we’re really hoping to have a great service there and make our church a bit more visible.

Recently, our government here has also put forth a new law in regards to religious activity in Kyrgyzstan. There are many major changes which will make our work here change drastically. I can’t share much about the details, but many pastors are coming together to see what we can do to keep the doors open longer. Please keep this situation in your prayers. The government definitely wants to restrict all evangelistic outreaches, and make it much for difficult for new churches to get registered, and purchase property.

What do you believe?
How close are you to the truth?   Seek HIM today!
Take a look at good Godly wisdom from His Holy Word.

Christian Doctrine is very important.   It is God's own truth.  Build a good foundation by seeking His leading.
Is Christianity the One True Religion?
Yes, Christ is the truth. That may sound awfully dogmatic and narrow-minded, but the simple truth is that Jesus saves us.  Christ said that He alone was the way to the Father (John 14:6), that He alone revealed the Father (Matt. 11:27; Luke 10:22). Christians do not go around saying Christianity is the only way because they are arrogant, narrow-minded, stupid, and judgmental. They do so because they simply believe what Jesus said.

       The Atonement

    Why is the atonement necessary?
Because God is holy and we are not.
We cannot save ourselves, but Jesus died
that we might have eternal life, with God,
in  heaven.  He loves YOU that much!

Christianity teaches that there is only one God in
all existence, that God made the universe, the Earth,
and created Adam and Eve. God created man in His
  image.

   What is salvation?
Salvation is being saved from the righteous judgment of God upon the sinner.

A lot of people think that salvation means being saved from yourself or the devil.  But that is not accurate.  All who have sinned against God are under the judgment of God.  This judgment is known as damnation where God condemns to eternal hell all those who have offended Him by breaking His Law.

This does not mean that God is unfair.  It shows that God is holy.  God must punish the sinner.  But, He has provided a way of escape so that people will not face His righteous judgment.  This means that God is both holy and loving.  He must manifest each quality equally.  So, being saved from the wrath of God is called salvation.

Salvation is found in Jesus, and only in Jesus, who is God in flesh (John 1:1,14), and who died for our sins and rose from the dead.

1 Cor. 15:1-4 says..."Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,"
Jesus’ ascension into heaven paved the way for a greater presence of the Spirit. Given the present availability of the Spirit in fullness, we actually appreciate a preferred Christian life now than the disciples experienced and enjoyed with Jesus.
