Our Mission
We exist to partner with ministers, ministries and churches in fulfilling Christ's Great Commission through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:18-20
"He told His disciples, 'I have been given all authority in heaven and earth. Therefore go and make disciples in all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and then teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you; and be sure of this—that I am with you always, even to the end of the world'."

Acts 1:8
"When the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power to testify about me with great effect, to the people in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth, about my death and resurrection."

Acts 2:1-4
"Seven weeks had gone by since Jesus' death and resurrection, and the Day of Pentecost had now arrived. As the believers met together that day, suddenly there was a sound like the roaring of a mighty windstorm in the skies above them and it filled the house where they were meeting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on their heads. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in languages they didn't know, for the Holy Spirit gave them this ability."

"Evangel Pentecostal Tabernacle exists to love God and His people, make disciples, gather in worship, and experience His presence and power, and to proclaim Jesus, in Dresden, and around the world."

Our missionaries ^ overseas, Aaron & Katya Pilon, with children Jacob and Carina.

Aaron recently served as general superintendant of the Assemblies of God in Kygyzstan.

Actively involved in new church planting throughout this small Central Asian country.

They're living  near hot spots of ethnic and religious prejudice, and terrible acts of senseless violence.

Their main focus is encouraging local Kygyzstan's native  pastors.

Thank you for keeping the entire  Pilon family in prayer, including Aaron's grandma Sally Pilon, who attends weekly, here at Evangel Tabernacle in Dresden.

Please pray for the church that we are planting in the capital city of Bishkek. Also, please pray for the young assembly, and the believers scattered across this small country.

Since our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit and instruments of righteousness (1 Corinthians 6:19; Romans 6:13), we must keep our bodies clean and consecrated for the Master's use. From the beginning of our existence as a denomination we have expected our members to abstain from the use of tobacco, alcoholic beverages, and addictive drugs. We have also maintained a strong position against premarital, extramarital, and deviant sex, including homosexual and lesbian relationships, refusing to accept the loose moral standards of our society. We commit ourselves to maintaining this disciplined lifestyle with regard to our bodies (Romans 12:1-2).

Scriptures used in Aug 20 sermon:

Israel Resists the Holy Spirit

ACTS 7:

51 “You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you. 52 Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers, 53 who have received the law by the direction of angels and have not kept it.”

Stephen the Martyr

54 When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth. 55 But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, 56 and said, “Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!”
57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord; 58 and they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59 And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” 60 Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not charge them with this sin.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

ACTS 8:

Saul was there

1 Now Saul was consenting to his death.
At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. 2 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.
3 As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison.

Apostle Paul was named Saul when St Stephen was Martyred
The stoning of Stephen the Martyr
The mob is the tragedy, and Stephen is the victory. By the time he is done with his defense, they are the ones on trial being accused of blasphemy. In his sermon, he says, in effect, "I believe in God, but you've put Him in a box. I believe in Moses, but you continually break the law that he gave. I believe in the Temple, but if your forefathers hadn't desecrated it with idolatry, it wouldn't have been destroyed. In fact, you're now in your third Temple, and guess who doesn't believe in this one?...God, who has had to keep wiping them out." So he turns the tables on them completely and indicts them. This sermon builds until it climaxes with the confrontation in verses 51-53, where Stephen says, "Ye stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do ye. Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? And they have slain them who showed before of the coming of the Just One, of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers; who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it."
Acts 22:   (New Life Version)
4 "I worked hard and killed men and women who believed as I believe today. I put them in chains and sent them to prison.

5 The head religious leader and the leaders of the people can tell you this is true. I got letters from them to take to our Jewish brothers in the city of Damascus. I was going there to put the Christians in chains and bring them to Jerusalem where they would be beaten.

Acts 9:3-9  (New Life Version)

3 He went on his way until he came near Damascus. All at once he saw a light from heaven shining around him.    4 He fell to the ground. Then he heard a voice say, "Saul, Saul, why are you working so hard against Me?"    5 Saul answered, "Who are You, Lord?" He said, "I am Jesus, the One Whom you are working against. You hurt yourself by trying to hurt Me."    6 Saul was shaken and surprised. Then he said, "What do you want me to do, Lord?" The Lord said to him, "Get up! Go into the city and you will be told what to do."    7 Those with Saul were not able to say anything. They heard a voice but saw no one. 8 Saul got up from the ground. When he opened his eyes, he saw nothing. They took him by the hand and led him to Damascus. 9 He could not see for three days. During that time he did not eat or drink.

Acts 9:13-15 (New Life Version)

13 Ananias said, "But Lord, many people have told me about this man. He is the reason many of Your followers in Jerusalem have had to suffer much.    14 He came here with the right and the power from the head religious leaders to put everyone in chains who call on Your name."    15 The Lord said to him, "Go! This man is the one I have chosen to carry My name among the people who are not Jews and to their kings and to Jews.

Revelation 3:1-6 (New Life Version)

Words To The Church In Sardis
Rev 3    1 "Write this to the angel of the church in the city of Sardis: 'The One Who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars, says this: I know what you are doing. I know people think you are alive, but you are dead.    2 Wake up! Make stronger what you have before it dies. I have not found your work complete in God's sight.    3 So remember what you have received and heard. Keep it. Be sorry for your sins and turn from them. If you will not wake up, I will come as a robber. You will not know at what time I will come.    4 But there are a few people in the church in the city of Sardis whose clothes are not dirty with sins. They will walk with Me wearing white clothes. They have done what they should.    5 Everyone who has power and wins will wear white clothes. I will not take his name from the book of life. I will speak of his name before My Father and His angels.    6 You have ears! Then listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.'

Revelation 3:15-20 (see above)
Rev 3: 20   "Look! Here I stand at the door and knock..."

Mark 5:24-34 (New Life Version)

24 Jesus went with him. Many people followed and pushed around Jesus.

25 A woman had been sick for twelve years with a flow of blood.

26 She had suffered much because of having many doctors. She had spent all the money she had. She had received no help, but became worse.

27 She heard about Jesus and went among the people who were following Him. She touched His coat.

28 For she said to herself, "If I can only touch His coat, I will be healed."

29 At once the flow of blood stopped. She felt in her body that she was healed of her sickness.

30 At the same time Jesus knew that power had gone from Him. He turned and said to the people following Him, "Who touched My coat?"

31 His followers said to Him, "You see the many people pushing on every side. Why do You ask, 'Who touched My coat?' "

32 He looked around to see who had done it.

33 The woman was filled with fear when she knew what had happened to her. She came and got down before Jesus and told Him the truth.

34 He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be free from your sickness."

The irony of this story is that dozens of people had been touching Jesus in these few minutes of moving towards Jairus' house, but only one had touched Jesus with faith that released saving power -- a sick but determined woman. It is quite possible to be in the immediate vicinity of Jesus without receiving his salvation through faith.
"If I can only touch His coat, I will be healed."

                                               Detailed Missionary Letter
We've got a new letter from Sally's family,  Aaron, Katya, Jacob and Carina Pilon missionaries.
The Pilons left us to fulfill a calling on their life to reach Muslim people overseas. Aaron is currently working as the general superintendant of the Assemblies of God in Kygyzstan living in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. They are actively involved in church planting and overseeing churches throughout this small Central Asian country. Their main focus is church planting, and pastoral discipleship.

I hope to type the entire letter into our "Global Missions" web site:  but for today I'll just give you the "Readers' Digest" version.     If you did not get the letter, pastor Rob may have your copy.  It is both honest and interesting.  Let me summarize for now.

First the good news:  "The Lord has been good to us", Aaron Pilon writes.   "We went to Ukrania to visit (wife) Katya's family for 3 weeks.   Then I went down to Osh for a 3 day conference.  There  were 40 people from all over Southern Kyrgyzstan... on Saturday we prayed for the last 7 people who were not yet filled with the Holy Spirit...all of them were filled."

The bad news:  Like me, some one fell at their church at Saifullah,Kygyzstan.   I just broke my leg here in Dresden,  but sadly a woman named Gulya (age 40...with 3 children 17, 15, 5) died tragically.  Her parents and husband are not Christians, since it is a Muslim country.   He was not able to attend the funeral.   It's a long, sad story.  We need to be ready to meet our Maker, without warning, every day we live!   If you are not saved, what are you waiting for?   Accept Jesus today!

He thanks all the prayer warriors!   Keep praying for our Sally Pilon, and her missionary family in Kyrgyzstan.  In his last paragraph Aaron begins, "Please keep the church in Osh in your prayers...", etc.  When you uphold missions in prayer and donations you have a part in souls saved across the sea.

God bless all our visitors!

Inspiring Sermon

Sunday's sermon was a great one!   "There are no Lost Causes".   Church is never a lost cause, and neither are (even the worst) people while they still live!

Revelation 3:15-20
15 I know what you are doing. You are not cold or hot. I wish you were one or the other. 16 But because you are warm, and not hot or cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.

17 You say that you are rich and that you need nothing, but you do not know that you are so troubled in mind and heart. You are poor and blind and without clothes.

18 You should buy gold from Me that has been tested by fire that you may be rich. Buy white clothes to dress yourself so the shame of not wearing clothes will be taken away. Buy medicine to put on your eyes so you can see.

19 I speak strong words to those I love and I punish them. Have a strong desire to please the Lord. Be sorry for your sins and turn from them.

20 See! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and we will eat together.
Tender Prayer Time
Pastor Elka had my wife and I come forward for prayer.  I covet prayers, not only for
me;  but for my good wife and family.  Thanks to all our prayer warriors who uphold
each other's needs before the Father.  God bless you all.  Prayer changes things!
