Aaron Pilon ^ is no longer  general superintendant of the Assemblies of God in Kygyzstan.

He is actively involved in new church planting, and also  overseeing many Christian churches throughout this small Central Asian country.

The Pilons are living in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

Their main focus is church planting, and encouraging local discipleship.

Thank you for keeping the Pilons in prayer, including Aaron's grandmother, prayer warrior Sally Pilon who attends weekly at Evangel Tabernacle.

Aaron Pilon's
Easter 2008 Update

Christ is Risen!

We just celebrated Easter this past Sunday.  The Orthodox Church celebrates Easter  at a much different time than Protestant churches.  Because most people here follow  the Orthodox traditions and celebrations, we celebrate Easter here along with the  Orthodox calendar.  We had a great service with quite a few new people.

Four people made commitments to Jesus Christ, and the whole service was quite  great.  After church, we all sat together and had a meal.  It was nice to have a good  time of fellowship.  One lady organized everything and made a huge pot of “plov” (rice,  carrots, and meat).

At the moment, Katya and I are house sitting for some friends who went to the States.   They have this thing called “cable TV” and I have been utterly enjoying the NHL  playoffs.  To my shock, the Leafs aren’t there (I have been cut off from hockey for so  many years, I’ve lost touch) so I am cheering for the Canadiens.  Just thought I’d throw  in this irrelevant info.

We are going forward with the purchase of property for our church.  Right now, we  waiting for funds to be wired from Canada, and will begin the re-registration of the  documents in the near future if everything works out smoothly.

This Tuesday, we are having a member’s meeting with the church to have a final vote  and listen to people’s opinions about the property before we officially commit to  purchasing.  The people in our church are very excited about this step forward, and  politically things are getting to the point where a church will have large difficulties  without its own property.

Katya’s studies at medical school are coming along really great.  She just found out  yesterday that she is exempt from all her final exams because of good grades!  Last  week she also went to a large conference and did a presentation on a project from one  of her classes.  She is really enjoying her studies, and has great relationships with her  students.

There are some medical students that might come from the States next year that we  are hoping to get involved in the university as well, to develop a wider influence on the  campus.  If there are any doctors interested in coming overseas to volunteer for a short  term, please get in contact with us.  It would be best if they could come during the  school year (not the summer).

Thank you so much for keeping us in your prayers.  We can definitely feel your support  with us, and God is definitely doing great things.

In Him,
Aaron and Katya Pilon

                                                  In Him,
                                               Aaron Pilon

* Pray for the largest missionary challenge in the Western Word, the francophone people of Quebec. Over 99% do not have a personal faith in Jesus.
* Pray for the youth and young adults of Canada. Over 80% are not attending a place of worship of any kind regularly. A majority of post-secondary Christian young adults drop out of church after high school.
* Pray for the 200,000+ Newcomers who arrive in Canada annually from other countries. 95% do not know Jesus personally.
* Pray for Canada's Aboriginal community. Christian natives faithfully share the Good News in the face of massive spiritual, physical and social needs.
* Pray for a greater wave of witness within urban Canada. Entire demographic groups of Canadians who live in-city are relatively unreached by the Church.
* Pray for those ministering in rural or northern Canada who often wrestle with isolation and scarcity of resources.

"The HARVEST is white in the field!"
Matthew 5:  13-16  Salt and Light
13 "Let me tell you why you are here. You're here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You've lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.
14-16 "Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.

14  And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

15  And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.

16  And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.

17  And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.

18  And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.

19  And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.

20  And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.
                                   Revelation 14:14-20 (King James Version)

"Sing unto the LORD"         Psalm 96  (a Missionary psalm)
1   Oh Sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth.

2   Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.

3   Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.

4   For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.

5   For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.

6   Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

7   Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.

8   Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.

9   Oh worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.

10   Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.

11   Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.

12   Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice

13   Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.   ~ Luke 24:   47 (King James Version)
Acts 4: 12 "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

Acts 10: verse 43. "To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins."

Pentecostal Theological College, Uganda

Pentecostal Theological College is located in the eastern Ugandan town of Mbale, and  is affiliated with the Pentecostal Assemblies of God, Uganda (PAG).  Training for  pastors and church leaders is vital for the growth of the church in Uganda, so BGT has  partnered with the senior church leadership in Uganda by supporting this Bible College  on a monthly basis.

The vision of the PAG is to train 14,000 pastors by the year 2020.  Our support means  that there will be churches throughout Uganda with pastors who are trained in the  Bible, and who are able to “rightly divide the Word of God”.

Watoto Child Care Ministries, Uganda

Canadian missionaries Gary & Marilyn Skinner felt the call of God in 1992 to begin a  care program for the orphans of Uganda.  A combination of ravaging civil strife and the  deadly pandemic of HIV/AIDS has left the country with about 2 million orphans.  The  focus of the Watoto initiative is to not just provide basic care for children, but it is to  raise up the next generation of Ugandan leaders.

Watoto believes that a family environment is the best way to nurture and grow healthy,  vibrant children.  It has created three children’s villages with over 130 individual homes.   Each home accommodates 8 children and a house mother.  Instead of a life filled with  uncertainly as an orphan, each watoto child receives housing, food, education, medical  care and the love and compassion of Christ.

Watoto is able to supply its daily operating needs, but it does welcome building teams.
Since 2000, BGT has sent 4 teams to Uganda and has built 6 Watoto homes and a  primary classroom.

Watoto means "children"...

Statistics Concerning Children in Africa

  •  19,000 children die daily from easily curable diseases.

  •  Approximately 17 percent of Africa’s labor force is children.

  •  Nearly 25 percent of Africa’s children between the ages of 10 and 14 are involved in  labor.

  •  About 80 percent of the world’s children under the age of 15 who are living with HIV  are from Africa.

  •  More than half of the continent’s estimated 15 million refugees and internally  displaced people are children. Only about 30 percent of them receive any type of  education in refugee camps.

Aaron & Katya Pilon, Kyrgyzstan

The Pilon's left Western Ontario to fulfill a calling on their life to reach Muslim people  overseas. Aaron is currently pastoring a young church plant in the capital city Bishkek,  Kyrgyzstan.

Katya is also presently studying in medical school to become a family physician. Their  main focus is church planting, pastoral discipleship, and overseeing churches  throughout this small Central Asian country.

Aaron has also worked as the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God in  Kyrgyzstan.  Aaron & Katya live in the city of Bishkek with their children, Jacob and  Carina.

http://www.paoc.org/missions/about-international-missions

As General Superintendent, Aaron travels extensively, ministering to many different  pastors and congregations.  The passion in their hearts is that new churches would be  planted and established in various cities in Kyrgyzstan, and that believers would grow  in the Lord.  Some of the challenge comes due to the fact that the country is the  crossroads of many cultures and peoples.
